About Rich Dishman

Rich Dishman is a New York City product who started his baseball career at Archbishop Molloy
High School and with the National Champion Bayside Yankees. Through these organizations,
coupled with private instruction, Rich Dishman launched an amateur career which included
appearance’s at the Olympic Festival, the fall Olympic Trials, the Cape Cod Summer League
and a four year baseball scholarship to Duke University.

Rich Dishman also enjoyed an extensive Professional playing career. He was drafted by three
Major League Organizations and finally signed with the Atlanta Braves after graduating from
Duke University in 1997. During his time with the Braves, Rich led the organization in ERA in
1998, was named to the Major League 40-Man Roster in 1999 and attended Major League
Spring Training in 2000.

During his professional career Rich has learned under and played with many greats. Here are
just a few names Rich has come into contact with during his playing career: Bobby Cox, Leo
Mazzone, Bill Fischer, John Schuerholtz, Jack Curran, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Javy Lopez,
Chipper Jones, Jason Marquis and Mark DeRosa.

After a debilitating injury, major arm surgery, extensive arm rehabilitation and a short stay with
the Milwaukee Brewers Organization, Rich decided to “hang up” his cleats and use the
knowledge he gained to start
DishmanBaseball.
